Why Register?
When you invest in a major purchase like an air conditioner, having the manufacturer back the product with a warranty offers peace of mind. To maximize these benefits, product registration is key!
Air conditioning units can be registered either by the homeowner or the installing dealer. Be sure to confirm with your dealer to clarify the process and avoid confusion over who is responsible for the registration.
Without registration, your Goodman air conditioner automatically comes with a 5-year parts limited warranty. However, by registering your unit and meeting specific conditions, you may be eligible for extended warranty benefits.
Upon successful registration, Goodman provides a 10-year parts limited warranty covering replacement parts for defects in workmanship or materials under normal use. Some models may even qualify for a 10-year unit replacement limited warranty** or a lifetime compressor limited warranty** as long as you own your home.
For instance, select high-efficiency Goodman air conditioners include a lifetime compressor limited warranty for the original registered owner. In the event of a compressor failure, Goodman will replace the unit with a comparable air conditioner or heat pump.
For detailed warranty information, always check your specific model’s warranty certificate. To find the certificate, select the air conditioner model on Goodman’s website, navigate to the “Details” section, and access the warranty link. Alternatively, consult your local licensed Goodman dealer for a copy.
Register Within 60 Days!
Why settle for a 5-year warranty when a quick registration can get you a 10-year warranty and added peace of mind?
For eligible purchases, Goodman recommends completing online registration within 60 days of installation. The process is straightforward if you or your installer has the necessary product details.
(Note: Residents of California and Quebec do not need to register to receive full warranty rights.)
Though registration is not mandatory for the standard 5-year warranty, failure to register within the 60-day window limits the coverage to 5 years. If the unit is properly registered, the warranty extends to 10 years for as long as the original owner resides in the home.
The installation date is determined by:
- For new constructions: the date the homeowner purchases the residence.
- For existing homes: the date the unit is installed.
