OVERVIEW

Inverter - The ACIQ-42-HPD 3.5 ton Extreme series central inverter heat pump utilizes inverter technology to convert AC power to DC, allowing the compressor inside your condenser to speed up and slow down. This allows the system to self-adjust BTU output based on demand. As the weather changes, so will your system output.

Learning Condenser - Equipped with advanced sensors, this condenser monitors indoor and outdoor air temperature, duct pressure, refrigerant temperature, and overall performance. During the initial startup, it enters a learning mode that optimizes future operations for maximum efficiency by collecting and storing data.

Adaptive Sizing - With its self-adjusting inverter design, the ACIQ-42-HPD can be sized based on your heating needs. Standard heat pumps may cause discomfort during summer when sized for heat, but this unit automatically adjusts to function like a smaller unit, ensuring ideal cooling performance without excess humidity.

Extreme Heat Technology - "Extreme Heat" means extended temperature range heating all the way down to -22°F. Traditional heat pumps cannot produce significant heat below about 30°F outside temperature. Below that threshold, they rely on expensive backup electric heat. The ACIQ-42-HPD uses the inverter to vary the refrigerant flow, allowing for maximum heat extraction during extreme cold temperatures. The backup electric heat supplements the heat pump, and only takes over below -22°F. The heat pump gives 100% at 0°F, and still gives 80% at -22°F, saving you up to 75% on cold weather heating bills.

Each ACiQ condenser has integrated Extreme Heat technology to maximize heat performance in extreme cold weather. The ACIQ-42-AHD air handler features a variable speed DC blower and communicating technology to maximize comfort and efficiency at the same time. Your thermostat communicates with the inverter condenser outside and the variable speed air handler inside, allowing the system to self-adjust BTU output to maximize efficiency while providing ideal comfort. The air handler efficiently distributes heated and cooled air throughout your home by seamlessly attaching to your existing ductwork.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation is very similar to installing any replacement air handler. Your technician will make electrical, refrigerant, thermostat, and communication connections. Plus, they will connect the air handler to your return and supply ductwork. The ACIQ central ducted air handler is multi-positional (upflow, downflow or horizontal), making it a very versatile air handler. Any 24v thermostat with 2 stages of heating can control the system. Supplemental electric heat kits are available as a backup heat source for the coldest days of the year. If any maintenance is required, the intelligent control board in the air handler displays fault codes in case any part of the system experiences issues.

Please note - in order to function, this air handler must be installed with a condenser and other installation equipment, available at an additional cost if not already included in this product bundle. To use straight electric heating, an electric heat kit is necessary and is also available at an additional cost.
